E163 (Anthocyanins) is categorized as a colorant and is derived from plant sources. Based on Islamic dietary guidelines, this additive is classified as Halal.
Colorants (E100–E199) are food additives used to add or restore colour in foods. They can be natural (extracted from plants, minerals, or animals) or synthetic (chemically manufactured).
